CatchSunlight Commercial Kits

Our stock commercial greenhouse kit bundle is for a 920 square foot structure at about 34.5 feet long and 26 feet - 9 inches wide at the floor. You can make the base kit about 42 inches longer with the provided materials if you minimize your wasted polycarbonate. We provide extra square tubing to ensure you have maximum flexibility in building the types of doors and vents you want. 7' extensions are also available for an additional $1,400, which allows you to make your greenhouse as long as you want it. We supply you with the materials to build your greenhouse except for basic supplies such as concrete and water lines. The table below shows the itemized breakdown of the materials that comes with the standard $10,400 kit. You can also increase the thermal resistance by about 14 percent for an extra $800 if you prefer to use the 12 mm polycarbonate instead of the standard 8 mm glazing. For an additional $1,800 over the standard kit, you can use the 16 mm 4-layer polcarbonate instead of the 8 mm. This provides about a 27 percent increase in thermal performance and adds significant additional strength. This video shows the materials in this kit.

The prepared 1-7/8 inch (48 mm) galvanized round tubing includes hoops and trussing members for 11 trusses and ground posts. The hoops are bent so they provide a slightly gothic profile to help shed snow. The horizontal and diagonal trussing members have prepared ends that are flattened and drilled so that you can easily connect them to your hoops with the supplied brace clips and fasteners. The hoop ends are swaged so fit into the ground posts and are fastened with self-driving screws. The method of construction involves purlins. All the purlins and end-wall framing uses square 1-9/16 inch (40 mm) square tubing. A total of 1,007 feet of this square tubing is included with this kit which is enough for all purlins, end wall framing and typical doors and vents.

These kits are versatile enough that you can use them for a shop, storage or anykind of agricultural structure. They are warm all year when the sun is shining, and there is a lot of natural light so seeing never is an issue. The polycarbonate comes with a 10-year warranty against significant yellowing or cracking and has a good insulative value for those cold nights. It's a really good solution to expensive shop construction or any kind of structural erection.

Here is a video that shows the profile of this greenhouse in comparison with other roof profiles shedding snow in the winter time. Here is a video that shows how to build greenhouses like this. This greenhouse kit has a few improvements not shown in the video including swaged ends instead of sleeves, larger diameter hoops, hat brackets for attaching purlins to hoops and other accessories to improve the speed of construction.

This design using purlins is optimal for installing polycarbonate panels as it allows for some construction mistakes without significant trimming. This allows for faster construction than other designs that use polycarbonate.

The polycarbonate is warranteed for 10-years against significant yellowing and cracking, although it should last much longer. This greenhouse design is based upon a hoop spacing of 42 inches to ensure a conservative design approach is used to withstand extreme conditions. These strong trusses can have a larger hoop-to-hoop spacing if you prefer based upon your specific needs and location. One of our greenhouses with a similar design was built with 80 inches between hoops and has held up perfectly with the heavy snow loads of Central Idaho. You can optimize your installation based upon your area by increasing the hoop to hoop spacing and significantly increase the size of your greenhouses with minimal costs if you prefer. These greenhouses are for agricultural uses and are not stamped by an engineer. It is recommended that you have the design fully engineered by a licensed engineer if you intend to use these greenhouses for public access activities.

These greenhouses are much lower in cost than other polycarbonate greenhouse kits. We believe our commercial kit is optimal for both performance and cost. It sheds snow extremely well and has withstood high wind velocities. We believe that the kits are stronger than the typical high-tunnels offerred in the marketplace. We are happy to work with your engineer if you want to modify the design to meet specific wind or snow loads.
