What the NRCS Normally Funds vs. What Actually Lasts

The most common high-tunnel grant recipient is a poly-film structure — inexpensive up front, funded by EQIP, and replaced in five years. Half of funded poly-film tunnels don't survive past year five in windy areas. Polycarbonate is a different product category.

Adjust Hoop Spacing to Get More Length from the Same Kit

Standard hoop spacing is 45"–80". Opening the spacing up gives you more usable tunnel length from the same number of hoops — at minimal extra cost. This is a real, material value-add that most kit suppliers don't mention.

Standard configuration: 27' wide × 38' long (~1,000 sq ft), with spacing adjustable within the rated range. Longer runs mean more growing area per dollar of materials.
